The Hidden Secrets of Weight Gain, Part 1
Apr 13 2009, 10:35 AM

Several people have asked why they're not losing weight when they're religiously following "a diet." Some say they're also exercising. Well, there are several things that cause lack of weight loss while dieting. They include:

1. You're actually eating more calories than you believe.

2. You're eating the right calories but also eating or drinking foods that slow or stop your weight loss.

3. You're exercising insufficiently for weight loss.

4. You're curtailing your NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) without realizing that this has happened.

5. You're decreasing your body's caloric burn because of a decrease in hormones or anemia.

6. Your lack of sleep, or poor sleep quality, is interfering with your weight loss.

7. You've been following the same exercise routine for too long.

8. Your subconscious doesn't want you to lose weight and have attention drawn to yourself.

9. You're taking drugs that are blocking your weight loss, which stops your weight loss altogether.

10. Someone, such as a significant other, is sabotaging your diet with calories.

11. You have polycystic ovarian syndrome.

12. You're a night eater and you don't realize it at a conscious level.

13.  You do well Monday through Friday, but when the weekend comes, your diet disappears.

Stay tuned to my blog, where I'll fully review each of these subjects.
